Biography:
As an athlete growing up, I was always interested in finding ways to perform at a higher level. I was a three sport athlete in high school and chose to continue my baseball career in college, where I earned Academic All-American honors as an outfielder at Concordia University. During my time in college I developed a love of learning, passion for exercise, and curiosity for how the human body works that continues to drive me today. Also during this time, I lost two grandparents to preventable health issues due to unhealthy lifestyles. These factors all contributed heavily to my desire to learn as much as I could about health, wellness, athletic performance, and how to help people improve their lives through fitness. I have been helping people maximize their health and performance as a personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach, college professor, and sport coach since 2003. I've worked with children as young as 4 and adults as old as 85, professional athletes, housewives, obese, diseased, injured, and weekend warriors. I have published peer-reviewed journal articles and been cited in major media outlets. I will never stop reading, learning, and improving in order to best serve my clients. I hope to be able to work together with you to find ways to help you reach whatever fitness goals you may have!
I live with my beautiful wife and children, teach college courses in kinesiology and nutrition, coach high school and club baseball, and try to get to the beach as often as possible!
We will work together to develop a plan to get you to your fitness goals. Individualized plans will make sure you reach your goals.
Get a group of friends together, and let’s make fitness a social experience! Working with others is proven to accelerate the process.
With a focus on helping you reach your athletic potential through speed, agility, quickness, strength, mobility, and flexibility.
I will come to your practice to run athletic training drills or strength and conditioning for your team.
Online personal training, fitness evaluation, individualized programs, done through Skype or Facetime.
The ultimate goal of all of this is to achieve wellness so that you can live a long, healthy, fulfilling life with friends and family.
"My 60 time is down, my strength is up, and it shows on the field. My coaches have noticed a difference in my build, and my mobility, and I owe it all to Steve and some hard work."

"Dr. Kelly is the first strength and conditioning coach that not only works with me physically, but he's such a positive guy that my entire mind set has changed as to how I approach my workouts. Everything has a purpose, and it all translates to the field. I work out hard because I expect more from myself, and because Steve believes that I can do more if I work for it."

"I was referred to Steve " by my son's friend, and started working with him to get over an injury I've had for years. When I couldn't come to him, we setup a remote situation that works like a charm. We Facetime when needed, and Steve sends me workout and stretching routines that are easy for me to do on my own. I've never felt better, and the injury is in my rear view mirror these days."

"Coach Kelly was my Baseball Coach first, but since I started working with him individually, I can't believe the power and speed I've gained just this season. I've gone from a so so guy, to a starter, and it's all directly related to my desire to be better. Thanks Coach Kelly."

"I was looking for trainer that wasn't afraid, or too intense to work with my friends and I. As middle aged women, we just wanted to feel better, not run marathons. Steve trains us as a group, but still takes the time to work with us as individuals so nobody feels left out, and nobody is left behind. It's great."

"I worked with Steve for weeks before my hip replacement to lose some weight, and to strengthen my muscles in preparation for the surgery. My Dr. is amazed at my recovery so far, and is sure that a lot of it has to do with my workouts before the surgery. As a kinesiologist, Steve really understands the human body, and knew just what to do to get me ready."
